I got hold of the new Fokofpolisiekar CD yesterday. Antibiotika (Antibiotic). A brief review follows:
I know I shouldn’t exactly review a CD I got less than 24 hours ago. But I want to capture the angst in track 1 (Antibiotika)and the emotional nostalgia that Van Weelde En Rykdom generate in my review. I want to start a protest against everything that seems wrong. I want to walk on water. I want to fall down on my knees and praise the 5 members of Fokofpolisiekar.

The professionalism and extremely catchy melodies take you on a journey that only music as magnificent as this, is capable of. The lyrics enter your ears and in seconds they seem to dwell on your mind, bite into your heart and force open your eyes. This is not just music. This is a lifestyle. This is a religion.

Fokofpolisiekar had a controversial entrance into the music industry. Everything about who they are and what they do, have been analised to the bone. Moms have thrown away the CD’s. Dads have threatened to brawl these guys if they get the chance. If only one of these people could find a moment to see the talent these blokes have. If only they could that these guys are capable of capturing the state of the Afrikaner and South-African youth in 2 verses and a chorus.

R140 for 4 tracks is expensive. But its worth every last cent.
Get it.
Love it.
Be addicted.
Get yourself a Fokofpoliskar mask and run around Krugersdorp with it.
