The Art of Programming

A few years ago no one had thought that there would be a www.moralfibre.co.za on the world wide web on the internet on a network of computers. Phewwww! Thank mother Technology for computers. But computers need a brain to run on. So arose the art of programming. It is not something hectic, just a way to tell the computer what to do. So if you hear the word “programming” it does not mean making soapies on t.v. or movies, etc.

It is all the organising of events that come about when you for example open a webpage, click on the mouse, type in characters or watch a dvd on your media player. Every little action that takes place on the computer is programmed, and by a human brain of course.

So if you were wondering whats more intelligent the, pc in front of you or your own brain? Wonder no more, your brain is! Even though recently a supercomputer made by IBM in 2008 was measured doing 1 petaflop (1 trillion calculations or 1 000 000 000 000 000 000) worth of calculations per second, it still fails to produce a random number. So if you thought the 777 on the machine in the casino was all about coincidence and fate, think again.

Nevertheless, I am sure we are all grateful to the intelligence of today that allows us to chat, blog and exchange information from kilometers away. That is the art of programming!
